POSITIONING:
The route will be reasonably tough and is positioned for riders who usually undertake 75km or MTB stage races. It is positioned ideally on the MTB calendar as the final long distance training ride for participants undertaking the 2011 Sani2C stage race in May.
FORMAT:
It is a MTB adventure through lush sugarcane plantations and tropical vegetation inland from Ballito on the KZN North Coast. There will be route markings and there will be two basic water points on route. Medical backup and a sweep will be provided.
The route will follow parts of the historic Golovane track and wind up to the Glendale escarpment before descending through some great singletrack sections on the way back to the finish at Holla Trails where riders can shower, relax and order a wholesome lunch.
All riders will need to be "self reliant", however water will be provided, where riders will be able to fill water bottles & hydration packs and one WP will be at a local store in Glendale. A list of essential equipment and energy food will be provided on the race website.
Entries will be limited.
